Overkill Software promised DLC before the game's launch. In October 2011 the first of these was revealed to include a Nixon mask, new equipment, skills, characters, and heists. This DLC is the Wolf Pack, and it released on 1 August on the European PlayStation Store and on 7 August for the North American PlayStation Store and PC. The new content included a new Technician skill tree that gave the players access to the AK, the GL40 and the Stryk pistol as well as adding in a sentry gun. Also included were two new heists, Counterfeit and Undercover. On 25 July, the No Mercy Hospital DLC was released, establishing a link between Left 4 Dead and Payday (although this has been stated to be non-canon). This DLC included the No Mercy heist as well as the Infected mask set for players with Left 4 Dead installed on their computers. On 17 October 2014, Payday: The Heist was free on Steam for 24 hours.
Payday 2 is a great game objectively with lots of replay value, content, and other good attributes. I've been playing this game since it released on the Xbox 360 and I'm still hooked which goes to show how much I enjoy this game. However, This verison is different. This great game has unfortunately been cut down to fit on switch. First off, Not all of the updates and heist are present. While MOST of the content is here, some like the scarface character pack, scarface mansion, death sentence update and more are missing. While it isn't too significant it's still annoying that switch players get less for more money ( PC Payday 2 Ultimate Edition is about 30 dollars Vs Payday 2 Switch 40ish dollars ) My Second Problem with this verison is the performance. I didn't expect this verison to run better or even the same as the PS4 and XB1 verison of the game but come on overkill... The switch port runs worse then the Xbox 360 verison of the game. While it definitely is still fun and playable, on harder mission with more ai the lag and framerate issues can show and worsen your experience overall. Lastly, Voice Chat should be added. I don't think it's as essential as some reviewers claim it to be but it would be nice. Overall it's a great game and I would reccomend, Just not for the switch. Only get it for the switch if you really want to play payday on the go ( like me ) or if you want to experience this game and only have access to the switch console. Get this for xbox one, PS4, or most preferably PC if you don't fit into those 2 categories. You'll get more content and a smoother experience.
Having retrieved Bain, the gang now plan to carry out "the heist to end all heists"; infiltrate the White House and steal presidential pardons. Thanks to Locke, the gang successfully manage to get into the White House and successfully escape with all of the pardons in hand. A dying Bain congratulates them on managing to pull off such a monumental heist, before he finally succumbs to the virus and dies.
Later in the year, Dallas is introduced to "The Dentist" (Giancarlo Esposito) - a middleman for a number of wealthy clients, who seems to know a lot about the gang. Dallas initially refuses his offer of work, but when The Dentist reveals that he can use his connections to help free Hoxton from prison, he changes his mind. In order to test their skill, The Dentist makes gang rob the Benevolent Bank, which had never been successfully robbed in its two-hundred-year history. Satisfied, he has them assassinate a Russian mob boss known as 'The Commissar', who has ties to Washington's district attorney. With the Commissar dead, the Dentist uses his connections to force the DA into giving Hoxton a retrial at a local courthouse, giving the gang a perfect opportunity to ambush his guards and free him. While glad for the rescue, Hoxton is annoyed that his alias and mask were usurped by Dallas' brother and insists that they rename him Houston, but he is allowed to keep Hoxton's old mask. After escaping the police, Hoxton and the gang raid the FBI headquarters to obtain intel on an informant who helped to imprison him.
