Hi reader in the U.S., it seems you use Wikipedia a lot; that's great! It's a little awkward to ask, but this Tuesday we need your help. You won't find anything for sale here; the information we provide is free. We depend on donations averaging $16.36, but fewer than 1% of readers give. If you donate just $3, the price of your coffee this Tuesday, Wikipedia could keep thriving. Thank you.

Switching from in house processing to Payday Payroll is one of the best business moves that I have made. They do so much more than payroll processing-tax filing, ACA tracking, third party submissions and more. I love that when I call the phone is answered by a real person who is familiar with my company. They have gone out of their way to customize their services to meet my needs.

The game plays well. I'm having a lot of fun with it so far. It's a lot easier to play on a pro controller vs the joy cons. I've never played it on pc or console before. It would be nice to have a story to play through but there's a lot to unlock and upgrade for your profile. It's a lot easier completing missions with other people online vs playing alone with AI. You'll have to do every single step of the mission yourself when playing alone. The downside to the game is that it has been repetitive already (played roughly 8 hours so far). I have not played all the game modes yet, nor unlocked everything but it all feels the same after a while. Last complaint of mine is there isn't a brightness option. I can change the brightness in system settings for the switch but not in game. It's made a few missions almost impossible. Blindly looking for objectives or enemies has not been fun. Other than that, there's a lot of content packed into this game and it feels great having something else to play on the switch. I'm looking forward to digging deeper into the game and building up my safe house.

The payday lending industry argues that conventional interest rates for lower dollar amounts and shorter terms would not be profitable. For example, a $100 one-week loan, at a 20% APR (compounded weekly) would generate only 38 cents of interest, which would fail to match loan processing costs. Research shows that, on average, payday loan prices moved upward, and that such moves were "consistent with implicit collusion facilitated by price focal points".
If you, like millions of other Americans, are living from paycheck to paycheck, then you already know how devastating just one financial emergency can be for your family. It could be car problems, an unexpected bill, an illness or hundreds of other potential issues people across the country face every day. When this happens, finding the short-term funding you need can be difficult.
1 First-time Great Plains Lending customers typically qualify for an installment loan of $100 to $1,000 with an APR of 328.11% to 448.76%, which is less than the average 662.58% APR for a typical payday loan. For example, a $500 loan from Great Plains at 328.11% APR would require 16 bi-weekly installment payments of $74.18. After the 16th successful payment, your loan would be paid in full. An average payday loan of $500 with an APR of 662.58% and a fourteen (14) day term would require one payment of $627.07. Average payday loan pricing is based on Texas-originated loans facilitated by Credit Service Organizations/Credit Access Businesses such as CashNet USA® (664.30%), ChecknGo® (661.75%) and Ace Cash Express® (661.69%) as of May 19, 2016. Refer to Loan Cost & Terms for additional details. Complete disclosures of APR, fees and payment terms are provided within the Loan Agreement.

Prior to 2009 regulation of consumer credit was primarily conducted by the states and territories. Some states such as New South Wales and Queensland legislated effective annual interest rate caps of 48%. In 2008 the Australian states and territories referred powers of consumer credit to the Commonwealth. In 2009 the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth) was introduced, which initially treated payday lenders no differently from all other lenders. In 2013 Parliament tightened regulation on the payday lending further introducing the Consumer Credit and Corporations Legislation Amendment (Enhancements) Act 2012 (Cth) which imposed an effective APR cap of 48% for all consumer credit contracts (inclusive of all fees and charges). Payday lenders who provided a loan falling within the definition of a small amount credit contract (SACC), defined as a contract provided by a non authorised-deposit taking institution for less than $2,000 for a term between 16 days and 1 year, are permitted to charge a 20% establishment fee in addition to monthly (or part thereof) fee of 4% (effective 48% p.a.). Payday lenders who provide a loan falling within the definition of a medium amount credit contract (MACC), defined as a credit contract provided by a non-deposit taking institution for between $2,000–$5,000 may charge a $400 establishment fee in addition to the statutory interest rate cap of 48%. Payday lenders are still required to comply with Responsible lending obligations applying to all creditors. Unlike other jurisdictions Australian payday lenders providing SACC or MACC products are not required to display their fees as an effective annual interest rate percentage.

A report from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York concluded that, "We ... test whether payday lending fits our definition of predatory. We find that in states with higher payday loan limits, less educated households and households with uncertain income are less likely to be denied credit, but are not more likely to miss a debt payment. Absent higher delinquency, the extra credit from payday lenders does not fit our definition of predatory." The caveat to this is that with a term of under 30 days there are no payments, and the lender is more than willing to roll the loan over at the end of the period upon payment of another fee. The report goes on to note that payday loans are extremely expensive, and borrowers who take a payday loan are at a disadvantage in comparison to the lender, a reversal of the normal consumer lending information asymmetry, where the lender must underwrite the loan to assess creditworthiness.
Read all of your loan agreement. And make sure to ask questions too. Don’t just look at the interest rate for your loan, also look at the APR—this will include any additional fees that you’re being charged and will give you a better idea of how much the loan actually costs in comparison to other loans. If the lender cannot answer the questions that you’re asking them, then they are NOT a lender you should be working with!
